Meet Miss Nola

Fluid Motion Dance Academy (FMDA), located in O’Fallon MO, is a dance studio owned and operated by Nola Mulherin. Mrs. Nola holds a BFA in dance with an emphasis in ballet. Further, she has continued her ballet education with The Cecchetti Council of America, she has been accepted as a Teacher Member into the Council with commending remarks on her exams to sponsor Primary grade 1-3, through grade 2 and currently studying for grade 3 and 4, once completing and able to sponsor all grades for official exams with the Council. Students testing above grades 2 and 3 are sponsored by Mrs. Nola’s Coach. Mrs. Nola and her staff are committed to continuing their education to better serve their students. Further, in addition to continuing education, Mrs. Nola danced professionally with the Common Thread Contemporary Ballet and has continued to perform with Fluid Motion Dance Collaboration, a non-profit designed for artists to collaborate and share their craft with the community. With a passion and life committed to dance, Nola has been focused on teaching all ages and abilities throughout St. Louis and St. Charles for almost 15 years in a variety of styles.

Our Story

Mrs. Nola founded and is the sole owner of Fluid Motion Dance Academy. She started FMDA in her basement teaching a few classes on Saturday Mornings in January of 2020. Sharinging her lifelong dream and passion, it wasn't a surprise that classes grew quickly, and so did our team. Miss Nola created another studio room in her basement and hired her first teacher in August 2020, Mrs. Maddy. By the end of our first full year, surviving covid-19, virtual classes, hybrid classes, classes in giant boxes, we had grown to 100 students and outgrown our basement. During the midst of a fun & busy first season, we searched high and low for a new space we could afford and when we found our new home, it came at the perfect time and in the perfect location. Our current 3500 square foot studio home is right outside the neighborhood of Mrs. Nola’s House. Since moving into our new location now 3 years ago and completing 4 seasons, we have grown to well over 200 students, 3 incredible programs for kids and adults, 11 teachers, 3 awesome administrative team members, and have several amazing student assistants as well. We are so thankful for the community we have at FMDA, your continued support year after year is truly appreciated and a big part of what makes FMDA such an amazing place.

We Prioritize Safety

We use Marley flooring with a special subfloor for increased impact reduction and dancer safety. Additionally, our instructors are trained in first aid and have updated background checks and are vigilant in providing a safe environment for students to learn.
