  • Fire Groups: Mr. Blue Skies (sapphire, ages 9-11), I will survive (platinum, age 12-14), Radio Remix (teen crew, ages 12-14), Purple Rain (PPC Line, ages 9-11)

We have leveled our dancers based on the following INFERNO Competition RULES HERE

We have also taken into consideration some other factors, due to the nature of dance competitions and leveling being very subjective in this sport/art form. Below is a guide for our students and families to understand why we have placed our dancers where.

We want all our dancers to be successful, which means being in a "level/category" that they have the opportunity to succeed and to fail in. Through failure we have success. If we are not being challenged, we are not growing to reach out fullest potential. That said we do believe in giving people the opportunity to grow their confidence when they are in a first year solo and training 4-5 hours a week and 12 we think its fair to go beginner the first year even thought the rules would say intermediate. That said beginner you will still see a lot of talent just like our dancers that are going into beginner level they too have a lot of talent!

MINDSET is KEY! - all our dances and dancers are very competitive. If we can go in with confidence keep our nerves on lock down and deliver clean routines performing our hearts our we will do well every time! Our dancers have great technique through their training and choreography. We just need the confidence in ourselves to sell it! I know all our dancers can perform and rise to the occasion, We have seen it!

FMDA additional Guidelines for "leveling" at competitions.

  • Ages 9 and under, automatically all will be beginner. it is rare there are many entries in competition in the intermediate or advanced categories for these ages at the competitions we have been attending and we found we competed against ourselves or only 1 or 2 people. We want to really see where we stand in competition against the majority of their age.
  • Ages 10 -12 all are intermediate, except if in first or second year competing, not on sapphire or platinum, then they are placed beginner.
  • Ages 13-15 are intermediate, if they have competed less than 4 years.
  • Ages 13 and older are advanced if have 5 years competition experience or have won 3 times in a season in the top 3 in intermediate you will go to advanced.
