At FMDA we strive to be 100% transparent on our policies. This page outlines all our policies. Further you can access these in the parent portal once enrolled.
All our policies are in place to maintain a positive and fun environment for students to learn the most they can from each class/ company and session.
Once Enrolled or interested in how the season runs, please reference our Next Step Guide based on the Program your student is enrolled or interested in enrolling, on our website
HERE. These guides will also be emailed out and referenced many times throughout the season.
Attendance Policy: When dancers are absent, they may make up a missed class in another class that is the same length of time and style registered. Attendance is important for the student to get the most out of their class. As makeup classes are nice, however, it's not the same as their actual class. As the alternative class will be working on the same technique, it is a different routines. That said, the dancer will still get something out of the make up.
Please utilize watching the practice videos in the portal at home, when out absent, most importantly in order to be elibile for a make up, you must schedule that in the parent portal.Class Attire Policy: all classes have a dress code and we do ask our dancers to try their best to wear their required attire weekly. It is a good habit and skill for them to learn and part of being on a team. We believe in fostering healthy habits even at a young age. Attire includes; proper dance attire based on class or company enrolling in, proper shoes or socks for class (if applicable), hair pulled up away from face. Ballet & Jazz, hair in bun or braids tied up, doesn’t have to be perfect, but not a messy ponytail that hits them in their face every time they try their turns.
* Recreational level students ages 8 and under, there is not a consequence for not having the proper attire, we understand these dancers are young and learning. We will encourage and remind them of what they should wear to class each week. Typically all our students even at the young ages are wearing their class attire each week. If there is a sensory issue, please reach out for suggestions and appropriate alternatives.
* Ages 9 and up regardless of the program after 3 times of improper attire, dancers will be asked to watch class and take notes, parents will be notified to have conversation with students on how to plan to be prepared. We instill in all the dancers that it is their responsibility at this age to ensure they have the proper things each week. As the studio office does provide a list to the parents prior to the season beginning.
* Performance Company & Competitive Company: all levels are required to wear the proper attire after 3 times in proper attire, dancers will be asked to watch and take notes. Parents will be notified to have conversation with students on how to plan to be prepared. As we instill in all the dancers that it is their responsibility.
* Financial Struggle acquiring all items needed? Please reach out and we can assist with getting something used at a discounted rate. We understand every little bit helps. We wish dance could be free, we can not make that happen, however we are always happy to help with the things we can to make dance more accessible and affordable.
Payment Policy: * All studio members: All members are required to have a card on file. Tuition Payments are due on the 1st and will auto process (unless specifically asked in writing to not auto process.)

Any past due balances of 60 days will go to the collection company. Example: enrolling in Recreational Sept-Dec, 4 payments of the monthly tuition rate will be due regardless of completion. Thank you for understanding, as the nature of our classes, we do not enroll into the classes all session in order to ensure those who started at the beginning, progress throughout the session.
