Jazz – Hip Hop – Musical Theater – Character – Tap
Purpose
Commercial Companies are for dancers to develop their artistry and the use of proper technique to master the genres that interest them at a competitive and age appropriate level. We set high expectations while also creating a space that encourages balance in life. We focus on individualized training to help better the team as a whole. We believe dancers should be well rounded while also having the freedom to focus on the styles that they are most interested in.

Technique Requirements
Minis (5–7): 1 Ballet Rep + 1 rehearsal (1.5 hr/week)
Petite (7–8): 1 Ballet Rep + 2 rehearsals (2.75 hr/week)
Juniors (9–11): 1 Ballet Rep + 1 Jazz Rep + 2 rehearsals (4.25 hr/week)
Pre‑teens (12–14): 1 Ballet Rep + 1 Jazz Rep + 2 rehearsals (4.25 hr/week)
Teens (13–15): 1 Ballet Rep + 1 Jazz Rep + 2 rehearsals (4.25 hr/week)
Senior (16+): 1 Ballet Rep + 1 Jazz Rep + 2 rehearsals (4.25 hr/week)
*Ballet Rep learns Nutcracker & Spring Ballet material. Commercial dancers are not required to perform but will still learn the material for technique development. Hip Hop–only dancers ages 12+ may substitute Jazz Rep for Ballet Rep.
Production
One rehearsal for all companies is Production, except Minis (audition‑only).
NEW!
Elementary‑Aged Production (Petites/Juniors) and Middle/High School Production (Pre‑Teen/Teens/Seniors). The full company also learns an Opening/Closing Number at Intensive, practiced monthly at All‑Company Technique.
Fluid & Motion Rosters
Pre‑Teens, Teens, and Seniors learn the same routine by age division and perform together at showcases, community events, and final competition. Mid‑year roster movement may occur if a dancer grows significantly.
Readiness, Swings & Inclusivity
If a dancer is not yet ready for a competitive company, we may recommend they join a non‑competitive Flowy company while taking required technique classes. Swing dancers meet all technique requirements and may be asked to step in if someone is injured or sick. Swings perform in the Spring Showcase.
Solos, Duets, Trios
Solos, duets, and trios are optional add‑on routines. Weekly privates, choreography fees, and competition fees apply. More details can be found HERE. (An additional technique class is required.)

Our Conservatory Companies are for dancers to develop their artistry and the use of proper technique to master the genres that interest them at a competitive and age appropriate level, in a conservatory or concert dance like setting. We set high expectations while also creating a space that encourages balance.

Fluid and Motion Rosters will work on the same routine with two versions of formations. Acro Company performs both versions at FMDA Spectacular and receives two extra rehearsals before each competition.
